Frontier Days Horse Show

A couple of weekends ago, Santa Fe had its Frontier Days at El Rancho de las Golondrinas. It was really hot that day, but there was one thing I HAD to see. A Peruvian Paso performance. For a long time, I thought Peruvian Pasos and Paso Finos were the same horse breed, but I was wrong and wanted to see the difference. I learned how to ride on Paso Finos, which appear to be a smaller horses and bred from Spanish horse lines. Peruvian Pasos are from Peru, are slightly larger and have a little bit of a different gate. Both of these breeds have an extremely smooth fourth gate, which is often shown off in shows by prancing around with a full glass of wine and it not spilling.

Who even knew!

There was also a Morgan demonstration that was fun. Two of the horses were dressage competitors and had choreographed dances to perform. Both of them danced to LMAFO songs and it was hilarious.
